Counter Flow Devices:

A counter current device is designed to produce sustained water flow towards the swimmer to support their body while swimming.

Counter current devices can be built into the pools construction, or be retro-fitted over the side of the pool.

There are different ways of producing counter flow current. Below are two of the best ways of doing so.

Fastlane HIW Fastlane®. The Fastlane® produces counter flow current by turning a 16" impeller cased inside stainless steel housing; a hydraulic motor drives the impeller. The Fastlane diffuses the water into a smooth current, which is as wide, and as deep as your stroke. Patented technology designed for the serious swimmer. JetStream Jetstream®. Jetstream® counter current machines offer high performance, complete control and reliability to match. Oyster Pools have been installing these quality units for over 10 years with excellent results.

Wilson

"Through the wall" counter flow devices ® Units such as the Bambo, Coco and Eurojet are complete units, which are built into the wall of the swimming pool. A pit is formed, usually at the deep end to house the motor. The jet nozzle faceplate is then built into the pool wall and sealed. The nozzle and motor are connected, and once the pool is full and primed, the counter flow device can be activated to produce counter flow current to swim against.

Over The Wall

"Over the side" counter flow devices ® these units can be retro fitted to an existing swimming pool. The jet nozzle is hung over the side of the pool into the water and is connected to a boxed motor, which is fixed to the pool at deck level. They tend to be the least powerful option because it is not possible to fit a large powerful motor; therefore less power is available to generate counter flow current. Generally preferred by casual swimmers.
